Yes, you are creative and yes, you can do this on your Domestic Sewing Machine! In this class, students will start with a beautiful panel or raw edge applique to create a piece of Art! Students will learn the proper steps of Dimensional Thread Painting and will find it to be a fun and creative technique. Exploring the various thread selection, setting up the machine for stitching techniques with free motion quilting of zig zag and straight stitching, bobbin work, adding embellishments and overlays. See the fabric come to life as you sew and layer the threads on top of the design. Students will use Thread as Paint-Sewing with the different types of threads and color combinations. Learn how to create interesting texture and dimension to the quilting project. Students will leave with a full knowledge of Dimensional Thread Painting and create a One of a Kind Piece of Art!

Lecture is titled, "My Journey Into Quilting". It is a very open and inspiring talk about how I started quilting, leading into Art Quilts with Thread Painting. Finishing with ideas to use with Panels as Art Quilts. Many people leave very excited and enthused to try something new with their quilting. My main subject manner will be working with fabric panels. Showing many "Before and After's". Exploring how panels can be used on personal projects. Many panels are looked at and passed over. I often hear, "What do you do with this? It is so big, The colors are dull, etc., ect". With added thread painting on the fabric, and possible additional embellishments, the project soon becomes a piece of Art! Learn about the preparation of the panel for the project and explore the freedom of using thread painting. This shows how the layering of threads lets you achieve the different effects on the quilts. Then, add embellishments of ribbons, fabric markers, crystals, etc. The panel/project is now unique and One of a Kind!
